------------------------------- This was heart wrenching----------------------------- I was at an airport with a rich, modern looking family travelling together. As we moved to security (before boarding), the grand mother realised that she had dropped her security tag. The security insisted that the hand bag is stamped again. The 50+ daughter directs the 75+ grand mother to get the bag stamped telling the grand children (her daughters) if she made a mistake, she must make good herself. That is the way to make her understand. The young girls laughed out loud as the old lady limped back to a distant security, pain writ large on her face. It was heart wrenching to see her go, Alone. Of late, Compassion, patience and affection in dealing with senior citizens has been a casualty. Forget others, We no longer are grateful to our own. All they look for is a bit of warmth and affection, understanding and some support and we deny them with glee. We all will age. It is time we set an example of how children should take care of ageing parents, lest it makes us the next victim. I hope and pray this old lady has the courage to face this daughter with a smile.
