---------------------- PLAYER REVEAL 7 ------------------- Solomon IronSol Douglas One of the NZFGCs favourite players, a players player so to speak. Representing for the lower tier players and Honda fans worldwide. IronSol has fast become one of the communities favourite players to watch, 100% solid with sprinklings of flash, IronSols matches are always nailbiters and down to the wire affairs. But would you believe that he was not always a fighting game player, before dabbling in the one true form of Video games, he was also an avid DotA1 player, one of Aucklands best Initial D Version 2 players, CS1.6, Drummania, WC2, Gran Turismo, GTA.... the list of games goes on. It is without a doubt something inherent in all of Ironsols endeavours that once he takes an interest in something, he follows through to the maximum point of perfection. Quick adaption, pattern recognition, reads, he has always been a very solid player in any game. But lets travel back, to a time when his first thought of MVC2 was...Dumb. It would take a trip down to Yifans, and watching Dave get his ass handed to him by a wild JoeKage, that his eyes would be opened to something new. He would soon start playing and it wasnt long before he was hooked. A favourite character soon emerged, Ironman. A favourite team and player would emerge, Combofiend, Magneto/Ironman/Sentinel. He would play this team to its almost maximum potential, the Iron part of his name owing to this game. Soon however, he would find a team that would shape his way of thinking about games forever. ENTER TEAM Z Mike Z, a well renowned FGC member and creator of Skullgirls, had created a team in MVC2 that showed great team synergy that could topple most top tier teams. A very unorthodox team and one that resonated well with the young IronSol. Juggernaut/Doom/Tron. This team would push IronSols creativity to new levels. Unblockables, resets, full lockdown blockstrings, assist punishes. Everything that came so easily for other teams would take hours and hours of practice to get just right with Team Z. One character loss for this team would be far more destructive towards its composition then any other team due to the character placement on the team and their assists greatly helping each member to be played at their best. It has been sometime since the last real game of MVC2 was played by Ironsol and Dave, but I do not doubt his skills will quickly return and pull him through. The real question however is, which team will he play? 1. What was your first fighting game? Probably street fighter 2 on the mega drive. Would chuck the controller on turbo and mash out fireballs with ryu haha. Though the first fighting game I actually learned to play properly was MvC2. 2. Who is your favourite FGC player? Combofiend. Technical, smart, flashy and all around cool dude. Check out his old Mvc2 and CvS2 matches. Also shout outs to my favourite NZ FGC player taiboas! 3. Who would you money match for $500? Mason lol. Or someone I think would give a good run for the money. But I dont have $500, so youre lucky Mason ;). 4. Why have you not taken the top tier (vergil, strider, viper, magz, doom, etc.) road in umvc3? I guess its because you dont necessarily have to play top tier characters to win in this game. I also dont practice as much as I used to so characters that require a bit more execution/combos to learn are too much for me. Sentinel is still the best. 5. When will you give the people team niue and friends episode 2? Maybe this weekend ha!
