-------- Originalnachricht -------- Betreff: [Seed-Update] WORRYING NEWS, lets get active NOW! Dear Friends! This is a call for urgent action! If things turn badly, there is a risk to loose the rejection on Monday!!!! Lets not take the risk and get active! Why? Well, the seed industry (ESA) were heavily lobbying to prevent the rejection. It seems they had some success! Very sad: We have heard that some MEPs forgot about their promises from before Christmas. We should remind them!!! What makes me angry: They think that we, the civil society, are stupid. Please, contact the AGRI MEPs from your country! You can find them here: europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/map.html (And in alphabetical order with links to ther personal page with telephon number and email-adress: europarl.europa.eu/committees/de/agri/members.html , A.R.) What can you do? A.) Write them a general e-mail, asking for update about the seeds AND call them tomorrow to ask for more information! Say that you have seen that the industry made so much lobbying, and ask them if there is still a majority for a rejection and if they will support it... B.) Give them feedback on the amendments (Use my instructions from the mail below which I sent to you on Tuesday) and call them. C.) If you dont have time to write, please just call them and ask for updates!!! Action is very, very important now. Lets try to put the pressure on them tomorrow (FRIDAY) and MONDAY. Its only a few e-mails and phonecalls, but they can really make THE DIFFERENCE. Thank you so much! Kind regards Iga ************* Feedback on Amendments: Remember: there are two scenarios being discussed now: 1.) Scenario Nr. 1: REJECTION: The Parliament will send back the regulation to the Commission for full redrafting and a new proposal. 2.) Scenario Nr. 2: POSTPONEMENT. The Parliament will postpone the process, and pass over the regulation to the new Parliament which will be constituted after elections in May 2014. They then will work on the old proposal. The AGRI committee is supposed to decide on JAN 27th if to vote on a rejection. The vote is supposed take place on February 11th. OUR ACTION is needed NOW! We must show the MEPs that we are still watching them and remind them of their promises form before Christmas.
