--- are we there yet --- Media Philosophy is a series that showcases the ‘transcontinental’ work of established and emerging thinkers whose work enlivens the Continental tradition that provides much of its conceptual armoury, even as it confronts, in different ways, the complex challenges of its own environment; that is an environment traversed by global communications that are always on the threshold of transformation by the events of media. Accordingly, the series will ask what is a media event? What is the potential impact and power of virtual media events to transform and reshuffle actual bodies and state of affairs? Can media events suggest new modes of experience and temporality? What novel aesthetic forms are developing within and outside the hypercapitalist sphere? With their affects traversing creative processes, ethico-aesthetic experimentations and biotechnological assemblages, the irruptive media events of this century provide different points of intervention for thought, necessarily embedded as ever in the medium of its technical support. The series then is dedicated to pushing the thinking of media through projects looking for uncertain, unknown and contingent rhythms that inflect and change the world.
