-- 2015 TIGERS STAT PREDICTIONS -- (pitchers AND position players) -- I also expect bounce back years from a LOT of guys including JV, Miggy, Sanchez, and believe it or not; Joe Nathan and Joakim Soria. Haha. Let me know which ones you disagree with! If you have an argument/constructive, civil criticism -- Id like to hear it. :) --------------------------------PITCHERS--------------------------------- - Verlander (33GS) -- 18-9 -- 3.19 ERA, 1.08 WHIP -- 219 Ks. (+5.5 WAR) - Price (34GS) -- 20-6 -- 2.81 ERA, 0.94 WHIP -- 292 K!! (+7.4 WAR) -Anibal (31 GS) - 18-7 -- 3.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP -- 189 Ks. (+6.0 WAR) -Simon (30 GS) - 15-10- 3.68 ERA, 1.20 WHIP -- 143 Ks (+3.1 WAR) (Late season struggles from last year will bleed through into this season from April, May, and some of June; farm boys get 3-4 chances while Simon practices. but he gets in gear and only gives up 1 run his last 4 starts. -Greene (24 GS) - 11-9 - 3.98 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 152 Ks (+1.7 WAR) (24 GS/Shane Greene struggles very, very hard early on; April, May, early June, and the well performing farm pitchers get a few chances here and there. But, Greene kicks it into gear after the all-star break and helps the team roar with a post-all star ERA of 2.88) -Joe Nathan - 5-2 - 2.82 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 45 SV, 4 BLSV, 81Ks. (+2.9 WAR) -Joakim Soria- (61 IP) - 2.79 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 74 Ks, 28 HLD, 8 SV, 2BLSV (+2.9 WAR) -Blaine Hardy- (46 IP) - 2.19 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 51 Ks,. (+2.0 WAR) -Albuquerque -- struggles pre All-Star Break, but finds his rhythm (55 IP) - 2.46, 1.14 WHIP, 66 Ks, 17 HLD (+2.0 WAR) -Joba Chamberlain- will pitch decently pretty much all year. Nothing lights out, nothing horrible, but consistent. (58 IP) - 3.44 ERA - 1.27 WHIP, 49 Ks, 20 HLD, (+1.1 WAR) -Ian Krol will struggle horrible all year. 5.13ERA in 30-35 innings.(-1.3WAR) -------------------Position Players--------------------- (all WARS include OWAR and DWAR) (I know WAR is controversial and sometimes dumb, but I think it helps here and there.) Ian Kinsler- .288/.341 - 21HR - 90RBI - 44 doubles - 22 SB - (+5.8WAR) Cespedes- .277/.324 - 25HR - 94RBI - 39 doubles - 17 SB - (+4.9WAR) Miggy- .334/.419 - 40HR - 136RBI - 46 doubles - 219 hits - (+7.3 WAR) V-Mart- .324/.414- 30HR - 104 RBI- 36 doubles - 201 hits - (+5.2 WAR) JD-Mart- .301/.362- 31HR - 111 RBI- 41 doubles - 190hits - (+6.1 WAR)| Castellanos- .271/.318 - 16HR - 72RBI - 37 doubles - 149H- (+0.3WAR) Avila (130 games) - .246/.361 - 15HR - 66 RBI - +0.8 OWAR, +1.9DWAR, well say over WAR about (+3.0WAR) Rajai Davis (95 games) - .294/.351 - 7HR- 49RBI - 32SB - 5CS (+1.4WAR) Anthony Gose (67 games) - .244/.303 - 1HR - 38 RBI - 19SB - offense needs work, but his small ball and DEFENSE make him valuable. (+0.3 OWAR -- +1.8 DWAR) If Jose Iglesias is healthy and starts most of the year, Ill give my best guess. .284/.338 - 4HR - 51 RBI - 16 SB - 159 hits (if batting low in the order) 38 doubles - 7 triples - (+1.4 OWAR -- +2.3 DWAR -- 4.2 WAR) -- (adding offensive WAR and defensive WAR doesnt equate to overall WAR.) OVERALL -- With the Tigers as is, I have them going 98-64. AS selections, not necessarily STARTING the All-Star Game: Miggy (1B), Victor (DH), Kinsler (2B), Yoenis Cespedes (LF), JD Martinez RF, David Price (SP), Justin Verlander (SP), Joakim Soria (RP), Joe Nathan (RP) And, our bullpen might have being then bad last year, but were stacked with guys who have proven, lights out talent. If the bullpen guys find their groove (which I think they will -- I expect a different atmosphere in the clubhouse next year), I think theyll dominate the AL, and have a shot at a series. If Dave D can make one or two more GOOD things happen, this team is destined for a WS win! I feel as if the BP was so bad last year because of how early the starting pitchers were coming out. They KNEW they had a huge task almost every night, and I think it stressed them out. Id like to see a pitcher (Verlander, Price, or Sanchez) step up and instill some confidence in these guys! What are some of your predictions?! (: Please, no negative garbage. This is all in fun. 79 DAYS UNTIL OPENING DAY! GO, TIGS! Hope everyone is well!
