-- I now understand why Carlton Pearson had to reject an Idea of eternal torture by a hell. He had seen so much. Few of the challenges that he faced was, being in company of the men who were preaching eternal condemnation and torture of people who fail to live “Accordingly” while they themselves were struggling to live “accordingly”. Because, Truthfully, if really, the message is about eternal torture is True, then, almost many Pastors are going there themselves, Because at the end of the day, they are human beings with reasonable Struggles. Some struggles are sincere, some struggles are just pure carelessness, but at the end of the day, each pastor has some struggle. And the Sad thing is, For Many Preachers of eternal torture, they have to be caught “red-handed”, or “Pants Down” it is only then that they will admit that they lives are riddled with human struggles. In one of the interviews, Carlton relates how, in his Azusa time, One of the Pastors came to him, and handed him US$100 000.00, and he said to him when he handed this “Do to me what you have done for other pastors”. Carlton Spoke about how he, as a pastor to a mega church, knew of Pastors who have babies “strewn” all over the place, while they are Preaching “righteousness” every Sunday. If what Carlton is relating is true, then these pastors, their message on its own, DOOMS them to eternal burning fire. I am not saying I have all the answers to the issues about eternal torture etc , but what I am saying is, IF the facts about eternal torture as presented by majority of the church today, then the very majority of the church are condemned. Do you remember Tedd Haggard, do you remember Jimmy Swaggart, do you remember Eddie long. I remember a friend of mine who told me about a young pastor from one of the nearby villages where I am coming from, whom it was known that he paid some girls to touch their breasts. My question then is, are these people forgiven? If yes, what has qualified them forgiveness, which will in turn not qualify others forgivenss I am talking simplicity here. I quote Heschel, God is either the Father of ALL men, or FATHER of NO MAN. Do not forget the ”required” standards like, “just to look at the woman and you desire her, you have sinned”. If really that be the case, my question is, how many of us are going to hell? My wish is, that those who wish to contribute to this post, be people who wish to face themselves HONESTLY, without any self-imposed Prejudices. PS: I am not saying I agree with all th4 views that Carlton Pearson hold today. Please hear me.
