While sharks get reported on sight, when media prefers,,,, the facts go largely unreported (marine wildlife safety) and without context or memory of previous seasons. Its called Goldfish memory... Meanwhile, Stingray injuries off California (and elsewhere) outnumber shark injuries by a huge margin, many of the injuries are serious and can become severe via infections.. and prolonged periods of recovery; and yet there is very little news coverage or media amplification of this current and long standing reality. Granted its not as sensational and broadcast attractive but its an interesting dynamic; fortunately education efforts are underway (still since 1994) to educate the public about these details ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
