.- The tornado threat appears to be highest in the middle Mississippi and Ohio Valley Monday, but some isolated tornadoes are possible in the Ohio Valley Tuesday.- Heavy rain and thunderstorms repeat in the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys through Tuesday producing widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches.- Some spotty 3 to 5 inch amounts are possible.- The heavy rain falling on ground that is already saturated leading to an increased flood threat.- Cold enough air exists from the northern Plains to the northern Great Lakes for a wintry threat.- Rain, mixed with wet snow is likely during the late morning through early evening hours.- At night the rain or mixed precipitation likely changes to wet snow Monday and Tuesday.- Slushy accumulations of an inch or two are possible mainly on grassy surfaces at night in the lower elevations.- Over a foot of snow is possible in the Black Hills of South Dakota through Tuesday night.- There will be a large temperature contrast across the region Monday and Tuesday.- Warm highs in the 70s and lower 80s occur in the middle Mississippi and Ohio Valleys.- Much colder 30s, 40s and 50s are forecast from the Dakotas to central and north Michigan both days.
