Please see the following report if you could post it from your side it will help encourage provincial authorities in Nangarhar to help the poor teachers in Dehbala district (Haska Mena) in Nangarhar whose salaries were looted by Taliban. On 23 July, in Dehbala district Nangarhar province, confirmed report suggest that, unknown gunmen looted salaries of teachers worth Afghani 900’000. Provincial education department spokesperson confirm the report saying the incident took place near Mareez Kandaw area of Dehbala district and tribal elders promised to help in searching for the missing salaries. Comment: several insurgents groups and criminals are operating in the area. The salaries of teachers are paid from regular budget if not recovered, the education ministry cannot compensate so the teachers would suffer. I wonder why most of the teachers receive their salaries via bank account but the salaries fro the teachers in Dehbala are sent by road which is not safe at all. Furthermore, how come the insurgents or the gunmen came to know that the finance officer is traveling with cash ? A proper investigation needs to be launched.
