- How Robert Baty played PZ Myers for the fool that PZ Myers is! Since the subject was brought up in the RationalWiki group, I guess some further explanation would be appropriate...in hindsight. Some may recall how I tipped off the RationalWiki folks to Kent Hovinds and Alexander Matthews libel suits; though they had thought to keep them secret for awhile. Similarly, I tipped PZ Myers off to the Kent Hovind challenge by posting a link and excerpts from the Gea Ambrosia FaceBook page to one of his recent articles. freethoughtblogs/pharyngula/2014/03/10/around-ftb-27/ freethoughtblogs/pharyngula/2014/03/10/around-ftb-27/comment-page-1/#comment-761913 Silly me! I thought that PZ Myers might be man enough to openly, honestly, sincerely, and diligently engage Kent Hovind in negotiations for the proposed encounter; one reasonable step at a time. PZ quickly posted another article making reference to Kent Hovinds challenge and the foolish course he was taking in response to Kent Hovinds challenge. freethoughtblogs/pharyngula/2014/03/10/kent-hovind-challenges-me/ PZ Myers showed himself not to be up to the Kent Hovind challenge and, of course, the negotiations blew up and PZ Myers quickly withdrew. I was quite appropriately critical of PZ Myers deliberate failure to engage the negotiations for a proper exchange with Kent Hovind. In that message I also made reference to Kents appeal of his U.S. Tax Court case. PZs minions, for whatever reason, could not handle that simple matter and one apparent lawyer amongst the bunch, Aaron Pound, put on quite a show regarding his failures as a lawyer in considering my simple claims regarding very simple matters involving Kent Hovinds U.S. Tax Court case. His fellow atheist activist and celebrity Deanna Joy Lyons followed suit. Nice guy that I am, I chose to banter about with them; not so much the whiny, anonymous voices who joined in with them. After all, they were the ones blundering about and relying on PZ Myers, their hero, to protect them. I might, being the nice guy that I am, patronize anonymous participants, but I might not take them as serious as more legitimate correspondents. While it is correct that anonymity may have its legitimacy, the down side is that when you go to misbehaving you might not get the serious consideration you might like. If any are correspondent with PZ Myers, you can tell him that I have an open invitation for him to provide his 6, one-word answers to my 6 simple critical thinking questions with emphasis on atheism (my Atheism 101 Critical Thinking Exercise). Ive answered yes to all 6. If PZ Myers doesnt agree with me on that, discussion can follow according to our time and interest.
