The church is all believers from all denominations across the world. 1. The saving relationship the church has with Christ. Verse. 4 a. This saving relationship/grace is only found in the church. b. Romans 3: 22-26. c. To have a saving relationship is to be made right. Jesus made it right by giving his life. d. By faith and being a part of the church; we can receive the grace of God by relying on the finished work of Jesus Christ. 2. The spiritual gifts we witness amongst the church. Verse. 5-7 a. Two aspects of these verses. i.Christ is among us. ii. Confirmation from Paul of spiritual gifts in the church (1) There are over 25 different gifts mentioned in the bible. 3. During times of difficulty the strength of the Lord is present. Verse 8 a. Believers are from condemnation/hell but all are accountable to God for the way you live b. 2 Corinthians 5:10. There is no escaping the time of judgment. c. How does the Lord fit into your life in difficult times? You can’t do it alone. d. Verse 8 says He will keep you strong to the end. e. Accept that you need Him and he will keep you strong! 4. The church has literally been chosen by God. Verse 9. a. The Lord wants you to be strong because you called you’ve called on him. b. You’ve become part of the elite! The Church of God! c. When trouble hits the unbeliever, rarely do they find comfort, life can seem unbearable. d. As a member of the Church of God, you have been chosen by God & become a part of the Elite!
