- Ive to admit that 2013/2014 were lugubrious years when our politicians demonstrated their legerdemain to spill the bloods of innocents people in the entire South Sudan. And this is why I havent written anything about New York resolutions, because Ive no trust in our politicians of their mercurial temperaments; both in the government & rebels in the bush. They may draw their stratagems behind the scene, leading to the lost of many lives at anytime like what we saw on December 16-19, 2013. Im always worried about the lives of vulnerable people in South Sudan. The children, women, elders, disable & poor soldiers on both front-lines. They celebrated Christmas & New Year with nothing in their stomachs; no roofs on their heads to protect them from rains and cold weather. Many are living in the IDPs in their own country and refugees camps in neighboring countries, but all the politicians with their families are spending their holidays,& New Year at grandiose and munificent hotels in Juba, South Sudan, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Kampala, Uganda...etc. The politicians look at South Sudans problems as nothing happened, and that breaks my heart all the time when I think about the future of many South Sudan that has been taken away from them because of power greed. These politicians dont want to occlude their egos, and work for the well-beings of the average citizens. And a result, many look at the future of South Sudan as a bleak! The citizens of the nation before this reckless war starts, saw a bright future ahead of them for the last few years of no war. Many had established business everywhere within the country, and their businesses were booming. They erected new houses; they had assumed therell be no more war; and, all of a sudden, those houses were demolished in a matter of seconds; pillaged and ransacked by their own citizens. But did it make those who ransacked and pillaged those houses & businesses look any better? absolutely not! And honestly, Im not like our poor citizens whore experiencing the war in the country. Im living in a country where the sounds of gun is sometimes non- existence. I sleep in a very nice house: watching TV news, Sport, and movies. Im able to drive anywhere I want, and no one stops me. I may criticize the president of this nation & no one pulls me out at my house at gun point; threatening to kill me, because its considered the part of freedom of speech. I may hold any job based on my qualification, and no one would say whyre you holding that position and you just immigrated to this country, or youre not a son of well groomed person. I can make friends with anyone, and not worried about the people Im friend with. But poor South Sudan who never have the privilege Ive and many others shouldnt be forgotten and left to die without pushing buttons to chastise our politicians to bring lasting peace. And of course, Ive lived in the war-torn before, and thats why Im against any kind of violence. Slept in the bush; I dodged the bullets & airplane bombardments. I spent days & nights walking in rains with no food in my stomach. I know what it is; the smell of it. I didnt want any South Sudanese child to go through what I went through, but I was completely wrong. And this lead to a question: Was this war a legitimate war? Not at all! But, those who like to spill bloods never sleep well when they dont see any bloodshed. And this is not the democracy we want in South Sudan. We want a country where any child, man & woman lives peacefully with no prejudice of the tribe the belong to. Im dreaming of One people; one Nation: South Sudan! And this is what we want to see in the near future. Weve to judge one another on the characters, but not on the tribal lines. Therefore, Im appealing to our president Kiir Mayardit Kuethpiny Lual with his camp; and Dr. Riek Machar Teny with camp; to cut their egos, and make 2015 as year of peace and prosperity for all south Sudanese! I know theyll not ready my post, but if anyone near them read my face book post, please tell them that we need peace more than anything else. Were tired of reading war news. No more war. Happy New Year to all South Sudanese everywhere; in South Sudan & outside South Sudan. May peace come to south Sudan! May God bless South Sudan!!
