- SHOULD the COMMIES DROP their COMMIE SURNAMES? - A Brouhaha of He Said She Said on Barnett R. Rubins Page about an interesting Issue - I accidently got into a discussion in a page own by Barnet Rubin, who is a leading political scientist and a professor of New York University on Afghanistan and South Asia studies. The topic he posted was, “ISIS cannot succeed in Afghanistan. No Afghans will give up their national identity. Not like Arab world or Pakistan.” Of course, when the name “PAKISTAN” is mentioned, Afghans’ ears and eyes open as they read them. The discussion moves on until Abby Saleh writes his fierce hate and resentment towards the evildoer country that has divested us Afghans for the last 50 plus years. All of a sudden, the BBC Pashtu Service Personnel, Zarghuna Kargar writes her view as follows, “Some very racist feel here. Very hard to digest.” I then replied in my post to Ms. Kargar, “Your family fought the Pakis when they were in Soviet payroll. What happened now? Why flipping sides?” After struggling to find the delete button and before deleting my comment, Rubin wrote this,” Personal attacks based on what family members may or may not have done are totally off limits. I wish I knew how to close comments here.” My fellow Afghans, ladies and gentlemen, for those of you who know the hardcore commie surname “Kargar” is the legacy left from loyal communists and those who take pride in their forefather’s achievement, in this case Ms. Kargar carries the pride of communism with her surname being “Kargar” and yet subdues us for opposing Pakistan’s atrocities in Afghanistan. In fact, I had no other arsenal to use except the “commies” sentiment on her upbringing. But we Afghans know better, that we arent individualistic society as those being born and raised in the west. However, we Afghans carry our families legacies for generations and beyond. Even the warlords like Atta Noor and Dostums sons will be warlords and generations of warlords to come. This is a mistaken mentality by Rubin for accepting her as a non-communist brain child when her surname still carries the pride of the evil era that we all have suffered until today. If she was truly a blessing and compassionate Afghan, then she shouldve changed her surname without being exposed as a commie, as some Afghans can easily take her for a commie. Wouldn’t you? Please give us your thoughts if Mr. Rubin should be considering the fact that Afghans have different mentality when carrying the legacy of their predecessors and forefathers.
