- The stalled upper-level disturbance that brought so much rain to parts of the East over the last week is finally on the move Monday and will shift from the Ohio Valley out into the Atlantic. - Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely. Some will contain heavy downpours. A few will pulse severe with gusty winds and hail from central New England to the eastern Mid-Atlantic. - Daytime temperatures will be below average in northernmost New England but still a few degrees above average from southern New England to Virginia. - Lows will be in the 60s and 70s, except for some middle 50s in northern Maine. - Highs will range from the 70s near the Canadian border to near 90 degrees in southeast Virginia. - Fewer showers and thunderstorms are forecast for most of the region Tuesday. Western New York and western Pennsylvania will begin to deal with the next round of storms coming out of the southern Great Lakes.
