Developing a deeper understanding of the lower body (Lower spine, sacrum, hips and pelvis. Because many of us sit down for long periods of time these areas can become neglected. The hip and shoulder are paired together in practise to build a strong body capable of releasing power without strain or injury. Students are taught how to do this through forms and postures which co-ordinate the body better. Learning to rotate the ball and socket joints of the shoulders and hips adds another dimension to exercise and can help with lower back pain and neck tension through increased blood flow and stretching of the ligaments and soft tissue.
