Theirs was the devotion of love __ constant unmixed and unflinching. They loved Krishna more than anyone else . Sukdev Goswami described that the single pointed concentration on the Lord in whatever capacity is enough to attain Him. Krishna remarks that the gopis attained the state which even the yogis find difficult to reach . To understand the love of gopis it is first essential to make oneself pure as it could not be understood with an impure heart.The gopis are always prepared to fulfill any of Krishna’s desires. One day near Radhakund, Krishna wanted to ride on an elephant , otherwise, He said , He would leave the place . It was an impossible demand __ to arrange for an elephant during the night-time in the forest of Vrindavana. It was impossible, but not for the gopis, who can do anything in the service of Krishna for His pleasure ; but cannot think of separation from Him even for a moment.
