The kindness James Blackwood showed a young singer / fan from their First Assembly of God church: Elvis Presley loved southern gospel music in-spite of being turned down by the local quartet. He fashioned his style and energy after his heroes. His only Grammys where for his southern gospel music that continue to sell millions around the world even today. A young Bill Gaither ordered the records of the quartets he listened to on radio at his grandparents home. His dad drove him from Indiana to Nashville to see his heroes in person at the Ryman Auditorium. Bills love of these artists inspired him to capture on tape for his own love.
