#100Daysofmisery Day 99: warning - todays post may contain actual misery...Okay, so I find myself feeling absolutely livid that some selfish fat cat has decided to remove our Banksy. I say ours because, to the best of my knowledge,if you view it as graffiti then no one owns it therefore its Folkestones problem. If you view it as art then unless it was commissioned by someone or done specifically for someone then it was also done for Folkestones benefit. Indeed Banksy says it was for the Folkestone Triennial - something for not just Folkestone but all who visit here too. Why then has some, presumably rich, ignoramus seen for to rip it from the wall it was sprayed on to stick in their own personal collection?? Ive seen no rumours to suggest its been ripped out to go on public display anywhere (and even if it was it WAS on public display in Folkestone!!). We had something awesome here, something that for a short while made ALL of the community proud, that caught the attention of some who would otherwise not be interested in art, or the towns regeneration. Thanks a bunch for taking that away. Its such a shame that the day that Folkestone stood up and showed the Zombie haters who was boss will now be overshadowed by this. Livid.
