But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” LUKE 15:1- 2 JESUS NOTICES THE OUTCASTS. ********** Some people are simply “invisible” to many of us:lunchroom nerds, eccentric neighbors, friends- of- friends with checkered pasts... underfed, overworked children on the other side of the world. The people we tend to notice the least are the people Jesus notices most. While He was on earth, He spent time with people who were largely rejected in their time:He heard the cry of lepers and healed them; He ate with tax collectors and sinners; He chatted with Samaritan women. The good news for us today is that when we feel like an outcast, we know that He sees us and reaches out for us. And as we experience His compassion, He gives us His eyes to notice the outcasts all around us.
