# 107—Pacesetters----My friend invited me to take the Richard Petty Driving Experience in Concord, NC. It was exciting to chase a pace car at more than 140 mph around the track. The roar of a racing engine is unforgettable! It is easily my most memorable driving experience. As I followed the pacesetter, he led me to the right slots for maximum speed. The pace car led the way, and disciple-makers are pace setters in spiritual life. Dawson Trotman reminds us to set the pace in Scripture intake. “If leaders [or pacesetters] make a habit of reading through the Bible every year, over time more and more people will begin to do likewise. If leaders are diligent in the discipline of Scripture memorization, other people will copy this practice.” (DAWSON TROTMAN IN HIS OWN WORDS, 117) Daws based this teaching on the following Scripture: “Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example.” (Phil. 3:17 NLT) Over and over again, the Apostle Paul said: “Imitate me!” It was his call to discipleship. So, let’s be Pacesetters.
