According to official data, 30364 migrant voters were registered in eight assembly segments of Srinagar. However, of them, only 9638 had submitted their M-Form seeking the right to exercise their franchise at specially set-up polling booths at Delhi, Jammu and Udhampur. From voters who had filled their M-form, only 5169 (53.6 percent) cast their vote despite BJP banking on them and seeking their support to sail through. The Habba Kadal segment—where BJP was banking heavily on migrant votes to open its account in JK’s legislature from Kashmir—recorded less Pandit voter turnout than five other segments of Srinagar. BJP had fielded Moti Lal Kaul, a prominent Kashmiri Pandit, from the segment. While54. 42 percent M-form migrant voters exercised their franchise in Habba Kadal segment, their turnout was more in Amira Kadal (61.73%), Sonwar (59.45 percent), Hazratbal (59.50 percent), Zadibal (59.69 percent) and Batamaloo (57. 76 percent). Of 5176 M-form voters in Habba Kadal, only 2817 cast their vote while 77 out of 129 M-form voters who voted in Zadibal. The data for other segments is: 68 out of 155 in Idgah, 290 out of 982 in Khanyar, 837 out of 1356 in Amira Kadal, 236 out of 397 in Sonawar and 484 out of 838 in Batamaloo. [12:10PM, 12/15/2014] SHABIR NEWS: SNA NEWS Sub-District Hospital Hajin damaged in fire incident Srinagar || Fire broke out in the sub-district hospital Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, late this evening, an official told INA. He said, one of the building of Sub-District Hospital Hajin was involved in fire this evening, adding, by the efforts of firefighters, the fire has later been brought under control. There were no reports of any casualty or injury in the incident, he added Meanwhile, Police has initiated investigation in this regard.
