$175 **In Ammon. No holds** NICE CONDITION VINTAGE DE ARMOND ROWE DEARMOND MODEL 1700 SQUARE WAVE GENERATOR - FUZZ - DISTORTION - OVERDRIVE - PEDAL This pedal works flawlessly and sounds great. Obviously this is a distortion / fuzz / overdrive device. It creates a unique tonality and coloration of a hard driven signal all of its own, much like tube distortion. Now, as a SquareWave processor should, after all, squarewave denotes a distorted signal, it does it with control and great re-activity to your fingers. I mean, if you have it distorted, if you play softer its not as driven, punch out power chords and its like a totally different monster, very touch sensitive I guess Im trying to get at. The solid state Squarewave distortion generator gives you the capability of adding personalized rich harmonics to your playing. The Squarewave achieves sounds ranging from the tone of an overdriven tube amp at low settings to sharp attacking balls out distortion at high settings for that full volume adjustable gain and output sound without ticking off the upstairs/downstairs neighbors and even worse, the cops!! The distortion youll get is infinitely smooth, able to sustain the played note with perfect, even flow when holding long, long notes reaching and achieving those 3-4 and even 5 octave feedback overtones, think Hendrix, also decays with the same smooth pleasing action. What I love, truly, is that the output and distortion controls are completely independent of each other and are 100% fully adjustable no matter what the other does. Some pedals, when you increase the distortion, the volume goes up, you stop, look at your hand and think Im not turning the volume, I find this on so many other pedals, not here, distortion is that, volume is the actual output.... As with all DeArmond units, the on/off, in/out switch does not produce that loud POP when activated as with too many of the vintage OD stomps. Also, the battery, its life is lonnngggg, a new 9volt battery can last up to and over 6 months under normal playing conditions, rehearsals and gigs averaging about 3 hours daily for about 400-540 hours average, thats a lot of scratch staying in your pocket. The use of this integrated circuitry germanium drive makes the Squarewave 1700 a unit of high quality and extreme reliability. It just reacts so well with tube amps, like theyre made for each other which, well, they really were! Has an extremely wide span of attack using the intensity knob, from almost no distortion (intensity way down, output up) like a pre-amp/lead-boost such as a DOD Gray 260 to everything in between. From simply slightly edgy to balls to the wall flat out nasty for heavy distorted yet clean understandable leads at full.
