(2-3/4 mins) According to Corey Bernadi (acting deputy President - TopicsExpress

(2-3/4 mins) According to Corey Bernadi (acting deputy President at the time) the Senate was today interrupted by a bunch of intruders who he advised to grow up and go out. (Yep, not get but go). Perhaps if Higher Education was funded properly and not deregulated so as unis can charge what they like (sourcing the bulk of funding from the students instead of the government) they might have a serious opportunity of growing up! They will not only be able to grow up, but be given the chance to become more skilled and to go out into the world. They may then be even able to perform services for other Australians, such as medical, legal, financial and technical? This will add to the GDP, but its a bit hard to measure in dollar terms, the only the only thing this government seems to be concerned with. This is what its come to. Weve seen occasional interjections from the gallery in parliament before, but this one was a doozy. Well done to those in the gallery who we couldnt see. You know who you are - take a bow! The real point about this is if citizens (not intruders) are forced to use this sort of tactic to make a point, it shows the absolute lack of effective consultation from the government when the plans were first introduced. With Clive Palmer saying he wont support the amendments, Ricky Muir going that way too, with Jacqui Lambie a guaranteed no vote, and Nick Xenophon opposed, the poor old government isnt going to get these amendments through any time soon. Two suggestions to Tony Abbott: firstly, youre on the nose, mate, come out of denial mode. Secondly, youre suggesting its how youre ineffectively selling the message - I think you dont need to look at HOW the message is being sold, but to look at the MESSAGE itself. The message may well be in Canberra, but {Bad Skunk} can smell it here in Gosford. NO CUTS TO EDUCATION! (who said that?)
