#2 WORLDS GREATEST DAD isnt really the worlds greatest movie (and I do wonder how many of the actual reviews used that very same line...?), but it IS fun and as dark as anything you might expect from writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait. I mentioned it was dark, yes? It is. Its leaning toward ebony. Robin Williams plays a milquetoast single parent, a teacher at the local high school, whose son (A monstrous 15-year-old douche-y asshole) dies while practicing auto-erotic asphyxiation. To save the family shame, Williamss character fakes a suicide and quickly composes a surprisingly eloquent suicide note. After that, things really get perceptive and acerbic. Having read that far, you may be thinking, as I thought, How can this be anything but repellent? Well, the fact that none of it is thrown away or treated frivolously helps a lot. Again, very dark stuff, with plenty of very appropriate laughter from two funny gentlemen who have experience with teenagers of their own. Highly recommended! imdb/title/tt1262981/?ref_=nv_sr_3
