#2 vs Shawn Michaels (Wrestlemania XXVI, 2011) In a business riddled with tragedy, few are lucky enough to retire on their own terms and in the perfect moment. Fortunately for Shawn Michaels, he got just that, bowing out on the grandest stage of them all, against one of the finest performers of all time. This was the second year in a row these two had met after Michaels had so narrowly missed out on breaking The Streak in 2009. The loss sent Michaels into an abyss of madness and obsession, and he set his sights on winning the Royal Rumble so he could challenge the World Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker, once more. Michaels didnt win and so his dream of ending the streak seemed lost, as Taker wasnt accepting a rematch, no matter how much Michaels pleaded with him. Michaels would have to resort to desperate measures. At Elimination Chamber, Undertaker defended his World Heavyweight Title inside the chamber against 5 other men and it was now down to him and Chris Jericho. Just as Undertaker looked as though he was going so finish Jericho off, Michaels appeared from under the ring and superkicked the deadman right square on his chin, leaving Jericho to to cover Taker and win the strap, as Michaels stood over them both, emotionless. Infuriated, Undertaker grants Michaels the match he craves so badly but with a stipulation attached; if Michaels loses, his career is over. So, they went back out at Mania and had another 5 star classic, as you do. Were now at she stage where describing these encounters simply wont do them justice, and you can find just any play-by-play review anywhere. You need to watch this match to understand the drama and psychology involved within it. The ending in particular is brilliant, Ive never seen a more devastating Tombstone!
