#2002 Please post it as a separate confession so others can see it as well Reply to #2000 Dear Confessor, I would like to share a lesson that one of my school principal taught me.That Principal sir used to call for assemblies and discuss with students of 5th-6th-7th std students things about life and philosophy which we used to listen intently but seldom understood the deep meanings of his discussions. In one of those assemblies he said Students, what do you think is the greatest gift that god has given us ? And he said hell gift a book to the one who answers correctly. So we all tried our luck at intelligence and brain and family but no one got the right answer. He said The greatest gift that god has given us is Forgetfulness, You wont understand this right now,and you might think I am a fool, but when you loose a dear one, it will always be better that you are able to forget your loss. Imagine you are constantly sad about what you might have lost, it wont be a nice life. He said So intelligence and money and family are all good gifts but our ability to forget might just be the best of all. So when you say, confessor, that the memories of your mother are fading away and you hate yourself for that, maybe thats what is necessary. And though the memories might fade they will always be alive in your demeanor, and thats what your mother will be proud of you for. I may not be able to understand the grief that you might have, but I do hope this will help. I hope you do well.
