*2013 Psalms & Proverbs Project - November* November 1 Psalm 61:1, 8 -- Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer....So I will sing praise to Your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows. Proverbs 1:20, 24, 26, 29-30 -- Wisdom calls aloud outside; she raises her voice in the open squares....Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded...I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes...Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, they would have none of my counsel and despised my every rebuke. *** November 2 Psalm 2:7-8 -- I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. Proverbs 2:11, 16-17 -- Discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you...To deliver you from the immoral woman, form the seductress who flatters with her words, who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. *** November 3 Psalm 33:4-5 -- For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Proverbs 3:13, 16 -- Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding...length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand, riches and honor. *** November 4 Psalm 34:19, 22 -- Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all....The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. Proverbs 4:7, 12 -- Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding....When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble. *** November 5 Psalm 65:4 -- Blessed is the man You choose, and cause to approach You, that he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple. Proverbs 5:1, 3, 8, 10-11 -- My son, pay attention to my wisdom; lend your ear to my understanding...For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil...Remove your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house...lest aliens be filled with your wealth, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner; and you mourn at last, when your flesh and your body are consumed... *** November 6 Psalm 36:6, 9 -- ...O Lord, You preserve man and beast....For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Proverbs 6:27-29 -- Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared? So is he who goes in to his neighbors wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent. *** November 7 Psalm 37:16-17 -- A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. Proverbs 7:1, 5, 7-8, 10, 13-14 -- My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you....That they may keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words....I perceived among the youths, a young man devoid of understanding, passing along the street near her corner...and there a woman met him, with the attire of a harlot...So she caught him and kissed him; with an impudent face she said to him: I have peace offerings with me; today I have paid my vows. *** November 8 Psalm 8:1, 4, 6-8 -- O Lord, our Lord...What is man that You are mindful of him...?... You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen--even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. Proverbs 8:1, 10-11 -- Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice? ...Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold; for wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her. *** November 9 Psalm 9:19-20 -- Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your sight. Put them in fear, O Lord, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah. Proverbs 9:13, 16-18 -- A foolish woman is clamorous; she is simple and knows nothing....for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of hell. *** November 10 Psalm 40:13-15 -- Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; O Lord, make haste to help me! Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion...and brought to dishonor, who wish me evil. Let them be confounded because of their shame, who say to me Aha, aha! Proverbs 10:7-8 -- The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot. The wise in heart will receive commands, but a prating fool will fall.
