**2015 ELECTION** North East PDP Begs Atiku Not To Leave PDP. The North West zonal executive ofthe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday visited the Abuja residence of the former vice president, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, asking him not to leave the party. At the meeting which held yesterday at the residence of the former vice-president in Abuja, leader of the delegation and PDP north west zonal chairman, Senator Lawal Girgir said the zonecame to identify with him and seek his support on how to elevate the PDP in the zone. Atiku, however advised the leadership of the party to cleanse itself, be fearless, and not be intimidated in order to enhance the chances of the north east zone in the scheme of things. Girgir, who stated that the zone isplagued by myriads of problems also sought for the intervention ofAtiku to uplift the zone politically and economically. He further said the zone was totally behind the leadership of the national chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. Girgir lamented the dwindling financial position of the PDP in thezone, saying that funding has been one of the banes of the party in north east geopolitical zone. Atiku, however told the delegationto disregard reports of his membership of the PDM, and threw his weight behind the PDP. - Leadership
