#22 SLM Oxford OCRL Race Report. 8-17-14 The day started out with real good odds on the #22 Car to get a victory. We were 4th in the final practice session and qualified P3. Once the race got going, we easily took 2nd place away and was in the leaders sight. We had a early yellow and the race officials came on the radio and said #22 Remember not to race people to close. When the following restart came out we got dumped in Turn 4. At that point TJ was furious. We restarted tail end of the field and drove through the field up to 6th place and then got chopped by a car and half spun, lost all our ground. We regained our ground to later then get chopped by another car resulting in someone spinning and having a big cave in in the #22 Rear end. During that Caution period the race officials seem to love to talk to the #22 car by this point. They then quote, #22 Dont race anyone until further clearance from the tower. You have no idea how angry the team was. When the two to go signal was given by the flagger, we were ordered to go down pit road to fix what they call my Dial up internet connection, in which was not the problem because everything on my end was A ok and had nothing to fix.Once we exited pits, I followed their order by not racing and just ride around. We got lapped caught a yellow, then drove up to the front again. By this point one of car who we tangled with earlier, his teamed radioed to the race officials and said, Tell the #22 to Park that piece of ###, he is stinking up the show. I ignored his request but did state to his team, At least Im not the one who brought out 3 yellows and self spun 5 times at the most recent event. In the end result, the leaders wrecked each other and we finished P11. We were very unsatisfied and saw no point in voicing our opinion and just loaded up and went home. It is undecided if we will return for next weeks event. I would like to thank the following people for believing in me and dont state such idiotic comments on the radio.
