#2705 #Male #Civil_2k10 Our college right now is going through tough times. With one of us dead and nine others jailed, this is the most grievous situation our college has faced since 2008. Those 9 students are charged with serious sections under IPC, as if they were criminals. All of us know that they were not the only people responsible for the vandalism, rather it was the frenzy mob and these were the unlucky 9 who got held. I am neither against the students for their actions nor against the police for their discharge of duties. But why is it that Dhanbad Police act only if they feel that the law is broken by people who can be oppressed easily? What happens to them when the perpetrator is an influential person? Let me answer these questions by citing few incidents. 7 shots rang out at a wedding reception in this sooty city, and Suresh Singh, Indias COAL KING fell dead. Even after 3 years of incident the assailant Shashi Singh remains free just because he is the sun of the incumbent Mayor. This is a news you can read once or even twice in a month in any local news paper,Two groups violently clash to prove their dominance over the coalfield. Often such skirmish involves parties throwing country-made but deadly bombs at each other and the goons sporting their illegal fire arms. Whats quite amusing that during such clashes the policemen run from the spot for their lives whereas the photographers flock in to get the best shot for next days cover story. And off course no one gets arrested for reasons best known to them. This happened 2 or 3 years back. The court had ordered the police to confiscate all the movable property (kurki zabti) of Shashi Singh. The Dhanbad Police did raid The SINGH MANSION as per the court orders. To everyones surprise, the treasure that the police was able to bring out of the castle contained an old broken cot, a torn mattress, few broken photo frames and a fractured chair. Since that day I firmly believe that our Dhanbad Police is also an efficient rubbish collector. Thus after a thorough case study on the nature of dhanbad police we can conclude that the officials and personnel may change over time but there traits remain the same. The Dhanbad Police is a bunch of eunuchs who act timid before the people with power but will roar on the already oppressed people. Those 9 in captivity are not criminals but treating them like convicts may turn them into one. Its high time to act. Seeing everyone change their DPs I can infer that something big is going to happen on Dec 8. But dear juniors act judiciously, your slightest mistake can land them in further trouble. Your protest should be as peaceful as possible, we all are enraged but for their sake you must control your emotional out break. All the best.
