#28days4charity #day3of28 Sharing a lesson. Running for distance is just not an activity that I love. But, Im doing it for several reasons. First, I want the health benefit. Second, I committed to doing something challenging. Third, there is a bigger cause than just ME involved here. Heres the lesson. I was running and kept getting tired because of the hills. So, a couple of times I ran the downhills and walked some of the uphills. But halfway through my run, I decided to see what I was made of. So, my strides became longer, I started to push harder. I would fix my eyes on a target in the distance and push as hard as I could towards it before taking a break to slow down a bit. As I got to the 3rd mile and began to near home, my body was feeling it and I was getting ready to stop and just walk the last .4 miles. But, I decided to push past my comfort zone and I kept focusing on little targets ahead. Just to the next mailbox, just to the next light post, just to the next driveway and so on until I was home. Lesson 1 - Push hard toward the little goals and the big ones will come Lesson 2 - You dont know what you are capable of until you push past whats comfortable Lesson 3 - Quitting is just as much of a decision as moving forward. Choose the one that helps you CONQUER!! OK guys. Thats 8.6 miles towards my 100 for the month. Ill hit double digits by tomorrow.
