(2nd Attempt at posting...) Trish is hanging in there at Trinity Nursing & Rehab. The bedsore on her right heel took a turn for the worse and had to be debrided on December 11. She now has a wound vacuum on her right heel to remove the infection and stimulate blood flow to the area. We return to the vascular doctor on Monday December 22 and will go to weekly appointments until it is healing well. Lets just say that the average American does not deal with putrid flesh on a regular basis, so its much more pleasant after the debriding, and Mom is in better spirits again now that the infection isnt creeping up. Trish had been doing lots of puzzles lately, which stimulates her mentally and improves her left hand coordination. Shes getting quick at the 100 piece puzzles, so we may have to move up to 200 or 250. If youre in a thrift store or dollar store, check out their puzzle selection, they seem to have the most choices if want to share one with her sometime. Mom also wrote a note this week left handed using the note pad she received from Mari Rech. Joan, Ill be sending you her note today!
