(3.29) Weight 108.7 Today’s revelation - the llamas don’t like Spanish carrots! There ain’t nothing else available so they’ll have to get used to them. They used to do this before, when I bought retail carrots from a different supermarket than they were accustomed to. Fussy, or what?! Fortunately they’re not overly hungry as the grass in the field is growing very well. Despite them ‘not liking’ the carrots, there’s not a morsel left in the mornings, so somebody is eating them! The two hens are still battling over egg-possession, but no signs of extra life yet. It has been suggested that the gosling may have been taken by a black and white cat, seen sitting outside/near the coop occasionally. The access door will remain firmly closed from now on. Helped shift the contents of the soon-to-close coastal Glass Shop and bring them back to the Glasshouse on the farm. I was complemented on my ‘spacial skills’; fitting things inside things, making the best use of the space available (in a Transit van) - and I was bought lunch as a reward. As I am on my new regime, I thoroughly enjoyed Goat’s Cheese and Roast Vegetables – highly recommended. Thanks, John. No replacement brake pads today, therefore the car remains blocking my entrance, so to speak, all jacked up and nowhere to go. Being car-less still, my sister has kindly offered to transport the carrots again in the morning. Once the animals had been ‘put to bed’ this afternoon, it was too hot to do anything but wallow in the heat and attempt Sudoku puzzles. A very nice way to end the day. The Business point? Perhaps, based on my activities today, there is none. I’m currently watching a frozen bottle of water slowly thaw under the heat of my anglepoise lamp – very much the same as watching paint dry - whilst being entertained by the sound of the young ferret exercising his jaw/teeth along on edges of cardboard boxes. Things will take much longer than you expect. Be patient, watch ice melt, listen to ferrets bite, and enjoy the sunshine. The Daily Llama
