# 3 Basically, the whole story went like this. In the bye-elections to many Assembly seats 18 months back, Congress suffered horribly. Surprisingly, YSR Party won almost all the seats, and the leaders of Congress attributed that success of YSR Party to sympathy wave in the wake of death of former CM YSR Reddy. Later, many Congress leaders and MLA s in these two regions (Coastal and Rayal Seema) quitely, and sometimes publicly, defected to YSR Party. Sonia, wanting to win the next election at any cost discussed the situation with the state leaders. They told her that party is still strong in Coastal and Rayal Seema and there is no need to give Telangana. She told them to prove their point by conducting local elections, Village Panchayitis and Muncipal elections. And we have seen the results. Congress performed horribly in these elections and Sonia understood it. The only way Congress can manage to win few seats in the state is by giving Telangana. But, this is clear. If Telangana is not given, Congress might win 0 seats in AP in the year 2014. But by giving Telangana, Congress literally destroyed the entire part in Coastal and Rayal Seema forever. Most leaders in Congress already moved to YSR Party. Now, with this decision, most people, Congress has destroyed itself completely. Its influence in these two regions will effectively be, in the future, is zero like it is in UP and Bihar.
