#3: Today I am thankful for our home in Port Orange. Not just the structure that we have lived in since Lauren was 6 years old that protects us from the storm, but includes our neighborhood of friends who came together as an army of supporters in our time of sadness and need last year. They did everything from visit Fred in Hospice, decorated the outside of my house with Christmas lights the day of his service to providing a full Thanksgiving meal so we could enjoy our last one together without having to cook or prepare and so much more. They supported Lauren and I with love, sympathy, hugs, cards and visits and a huge pile of gift cards so we could eat out on nights when we just werent up to cooking. This lovely group of families, just 14 houses on our cul-de-sac, made such a difference in our lives while Fred was ill and the eleven months since he passed away. We can never repay all of the kindnesses they provided. The laughter and tears and hugs and support they continue to give is priceless to us. Our little Mayberry is a little piece of heaven to us and I am thankful for each and everyone of them, not just today but everyday. They make the saying ....Theres no place like home! a reality. Love you all!
