#30DaysofReal day 6: I grew up in a deeply conservative Christian fundamentalist family. Then I played my hand with modern Paganism. I am not religious. I have amerced myself in Scientific learning, tried to be rational and critical, and do my best to weigh everything based off of evidence. I am not an Atheist. Neither position falls within the realm of the critical mind, because a critical mind is aware that proper study of something generally doesnt speak in absolutes, understands the concept of the as yet undiscovered evidence, and knows the absence of proof is not the proof of absence. So, like many public Scientific folks, such as my man Neil deGrasse Tyson, I am Agnostic in my views of life, the universe, and everything. I weigh the evidence and speak in terms of more or less likely based off that evidence. But am I a man of any faith? Yes, I am. I have faith in people. And every day you all test that faith something fierce.
