#30daystil30 #livingwordministries #peacechild My junior year I finally got the nerve to try out for the drama team and I got casted! This year it was about a missionary family Don and Carol Richardson who went to minister to a cannibalistic tribe in New Guinea. Don struggled to help them understand God until he discovered their custom of a peace child - when a tribal member would give his son to a warring tribe, there would be peace. He explained that Jesus was our Peace Child from God. I wasnt Don. I was a cannibal who was easily impressed with matches - far-sticks as my character called them. So each performance, I had to strike a match. Unfortunately, I am a slight pyro-phobic (is this a word?) and had to face my fear of fire in front of a live audience all year long. I was also supposed to use a strong southern accent, which I could never seem to pull off right even though I was from Oklahoma. Throughout the year, I travelled with an amazing cast and director. Thank you Steve Dowell for your direction on and off the stage. Who knew we would eventually be missionaries ourselves and need to remember a little thing called ministry mode? (Although we refrain from doing the warm-up exercises ;) ) Our cast consisted of Jeremy Hill, Heather Barker, John sullivan, Ashley Calhoun, Carrie Jones, Steven Kleber, Stephanie Hicks, Pamela Hopgood, Joshua Joyce, Lani Joyce, Brandon Dobson, and Joshua Wilson. And we travelled to Chicago, Dallas, Biloxi, and even spent Spring break in Florida (this sounds too much like my current life). And if I know this group, many inside stories will be coming out soon - more than I could come up with on my own - OR we might even be blessed by a quote from the Almighty Quote Book (does it still exist? Has it gone digital? Has it been translated into Turkish yet?)
