$34. SPIRITUAL EUGENICS. The Eternal Recurrence is only the most famous of Nietzsches efforts to create philosophical positions that would strengthen the healthy and weaken the world-weary. This is a remarkable idea. What would we come up with if our goal was to help those who can thrive beyond Nihilism and inhibit or undermine those who are most instinctively nihilistic? How does a philosophical proposition look which is designed the way we approach the breeding of plants and animals? What notion -- if taken seriously -- deepens the empowerment of those who can take evolution further along its spiritual trajectory while (at the same time) weakening those who are most likely to enact the regression and stagnation of the lifes great work? Even to consider this feel a little risky. But the philosophers of the future are not just challenged to reveal truth but also to shape ideas so that they are of maximum benefit to the process in which philosophy itself is embedded.
