$4.3 million and counting for Kuemper Catholic Schools Carroll, IA – Even during the dog days of summer, supporters of Kuemper Catholic Schools continue to generously support its historic Kuemper Tomorrow fundraising campaign. By surpassing the $4.3 million milestone in late July, the campaign is inching closer and closer to its $4.63 million Celebration Goal. “Only $300,000 to go, and then we will really celebrate!” proclaimed Kuemper Foundation Director, John Steffes, “We’ve already accomplished so much, but with that Celebration Goal within reach, this is a really exciting time for all of us and for the future of Kuemper.” In recent weeks, many local Carroll businesses came through with generous pledges and gifts toward the effort. “We would like to thank the business leaders of the Carroll community who have so generously made an investment in their community by supporting our school,” said Vern Henkenius, President of Kuemper Catholic Schools. Additional businesses are expected to come onboard in the weeks to come. More than 1,000 families, individuals, businesses and foundations have already pledged their support to the campaign. School leadership believes that by continuing to spread the positive message of the campaign, additional gifts will help them reach their goals. The Kuemper Tomorrow campaign is raising funds to improve the school’s facilities and programs. When students arrive for their first day of school in mid-August, they will immediately benefit from the tremendous upgrades in technology, which were implemented over the summer. New wiring, servers, firewalls, and network equipment will result in increased speed, functionality and productivity as Kuemper begins its 1:1 initiative, so students have wider access to digital learning devices. A new Bring-Your-Own-Device program will begin for students in grades 6-12 as the campaign will fund devices for all other students in those grades. Kuemper’s first-ever before and after school program, Kuemper Cares, will also begin in August as a result of dollars raised during the campaign. Other campaign goals, which will be accomplished in the near future, include upgrading security in all four attendance centers, reconfiguring the front entrance to Kuemper High School to establish a stronger Catholic identity, renovating the high school’s chapel, modernizing the high school’s science laboratories, strengthening the Teacher Salary Enhancement Fund, investing in the Fr. Kuemper Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund, and constructing a new multi-purpose, co-ed Kuemper Fieldhouse.
