#4 Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Pt. II I cant recall many songs that made such an immediate impact on me as this one. This song is just FILTHY all-around. I mean the beat on this track is insane... sinister and dirty and just ILL! It is perfect. (An aside: if I was a baseball closer it would be my entrance music NO DOUBT!) And the thing is, I really love Part I of this song as well. (entirely gets overshadowed which I think is a shame) Mobb Deeps Infamous record is one of those hip-hop records that you just learn more and more about as time passes. The fact that Q-Tip was very instrumental in the making of the record goes to show his amazing versatility and his love of all things dope. I gather this song has pretty much reached anthem status at this point... I recall it was pretty much was the soundtrack of the summer the year it was released (1995). Cars seemed to constantly have this bumping LOUD. And both P and Havoc completely rip this joint to pieces. This song fosters such fond memories for me. Visiting New York in the summertime... getting more familiar with Brooklyn etc. Put this on anywhere to this day and people instantly get BUCK... a true timeless classic. https://youtube/watch?v=0NUX4tW5pps&feature=kp
