$5000+ visit (estimated) to ER for a $20 prescription because all the docs are pointing their fingers at another doc to get help. I am official about to waste thousands of dollars. sorry.... Today is one of the days when I was smacked down by the medical system Noted yesterday pm by wonderful wonderful home health that I have a large & painful lesion on top of tongue documented in her notes. She said to get help and all day was spent trying to get said help. lesion has roughly doubled in size in 24 hours. Jac Garry for me has made phone calls to my primary care doc. Staff of Primary office say not their job and referred back to Inf Dis docs. ID docs say no, go to PC or ER? I then start making calls. I have been offered the following - go back via phone to get help from PC - explained they refused but left another pleading message for help there. The best I can get anywhere is a Friday am appointment. OR SUGGESTION TO GO TO ER. So let me get this straight I risk my frail health after just being discharged to sit probably 4 to 10 hours in ER for a prescription, (guess a $5 k visit) for a $20 copay prescription because NO one can treat me One says go to the other and another go to the other and I EXPLAINED that when I talk or swallow or anything it hurts. The lesion is now over 1 inch long and growing. Unable to safely swallow regularly trying to dribble food, water on left side without choking. This is insane and I cannot stop from crying from all the pain and frustration. I offered to email my tongue photos. While this might be a sign of too much antiobiotics and will probably resolve in a few weeks, in the mean time, I can not eat or drink much at all. It doesnt have to be so rough folks. Why is my access so difficult? Dear Lord, Please open the gates of this system where I dont have to go and stay for three to ten hours to get a simple amount of help. I cry out to you Lord, what am I to do with all of this. I cry out for those unable to get any help as they have no one even to make a call for them. I beg you Lord for comfort and healing. That manmade issues disappear and that caring is a response of Love, NOT of rules. Lord you know my heart is so heavy and I am so tired of hurting and not being heard or tended to at all.......Amen.
