(6 photos) Twas 2 days after Christmas, all through Hecksher Park, not a creature was stirring nor a beast or a Lark; then what to my wondrous eyes did I spy, a camouflaged boat, rifles, & lifeless common golden eye. So, I walked 6 miles through the barren forest, not a house nor a mouse, or a gull nor a grouse. The osprey have snow-birded to Caribbean shores, but no where in sight was a loon or a coon. Not a mallard, a shoveller, nor pintail or goose; nary a bufflehead, a teal or flicker on the loose. So off to Robert Moses to witness wildlife, maybe a fox, white footed mouse, a doe or even a louse? Walking 6 miles or even 8, through mud puddles, fallen trees, even jagged rocks, it was home bound for me with no pictures of wildlife only a pound of sand in my socks.
