#6969 Am i an Indian I am hungry since 11 years I have lived for 4 decades I just had one request Not to kill my men But who would pay heed Because i have the Same eyes I have the Same language I have the Same looks But i am not a terrorist And nor my men are I also wanted to study I thought the capital Would give me better education I was just 19 Never i knew My dead body would return my home. I am just 22 I was beaten for 3 hours They told me to leave. They shaved my head. They said anyone from my place comes Gets killed They dont treat me as an Indian I just formed a students association I did not know the local language Rocks from all around Landed on my skull They asked me to speak Kannada Because i had their food This is India not China I try to reason with them But they are hysterical They call me NRI They call me foreigners But i see even Pakistanis have a better life in India Often i am told Go back to China Often i am asked Which country are you from Often i am beaten up Because they believe am a terrorist. Where the nuance of Unity in diversity They can kill me But if i kill i am a terrorist They may slap me But i do and Its a cognizable offence They can use guns without license But i am killed by the army The MOMENT i touch a gun They may visit the world But i am treated as a traitor to the nation If i STEP to foreign soil. If they demand a separate state they are justified And if i do i am again a terrorist. I may be Nido Taniam I may be Lamjathang Haokip I may be Awang Newmei I may be Irom sharmila I dont treat street dogs The way you choose to treat me. Just Because i was born in The Most BEAUTIFULL place I am an Indian And on TOP of that I am a human being
