94. The Dead Kennedys - Terminal Preppie. 1982. I will always remember fondly how I got the DJ to play this song at a school dance filled with Rick Springfield and The Gap Band music where the height of punk/rock on the night might have been Dexys Midnight Runners... Anyway, I told them it was a new Aha song and gave them the tape. For a moment the place went wild with slam dancing and general chaos. Until the song was suddenly stopped at 45 seconds. You will see! Musically, many different elements bubble to the surface on Plastic Surgery Disasters, including surf-rock, oddly psychedelic guitar textures, and traditional film music, including sections and guitar fills that resemble Ennio Morricone spaghetti western scores. These elements are not always immediately apparent under the high-speed thrash, but they are an indication of Dead Kennedys musical uniqueness. Dead Kennedys would further these elements, to some extent, on their next release, 1985s Frankenchrist. #DeadKennedys #JelloBiafra #BestSong #BucketList #Punk #Preppie
