A Quick Public Awareness Note: I was going to use this update to speak on how incredibly blessed I feel to be where Im at in the campaign in only 36 hours. I even planned on releasing the extended trailer a week earlier! But instead Ill save that for later and use this post to share a thought. So my film deals with the evil side of relationships, basically the stuff you will never hear about. But therein lies the main problem. Many people DO NOT speak up, when they are in a tough situation. I have had many friends that have gone through the worst havoc you can imagine, some almost dying without symptoms of abuse. Physically and mentally, both men, women and children. It simply makes me sick to my stomach to think that anyone could harm another human being for no reason, especially now being a father. Anyway, the idea for my film came up a long time ago, I just never knew how to portray it in a way that people would accept the material. Because as we know its a touchy subject to bring up. Ive had really good friends tell me to rethink my concept because people wouldnt accept it. To that I say, Im sure people told Abraham Lincoln that people wouldnt get the concept of freed slaves, or Martin Luther Kings dream, you get the point :) Its all about being bold and audacious just as many of my favorite filmmakers, including Kubrick, Tarantino, Lars Von Trier, Terrence Malick and Hitchcock. Narrative fiction films allows that. So after being commended for my film idea and learning about #domesticviolenceawareness month, to show my support I utilized scenes from my new extended trailer to cut together a quick little one minute awareness video. Hoping that this can just be one little piece of a puzzle to help stop this thing. Please feel free to share.
