"A good place to live is a good place to visit", Why should communities invest and/or care about cultural/heritage tourism? To improve the quality of life for our own residents! The tourism payoff is that if you make your community the sort of place where people want to live, then it will also be the sort of place tourists will want to visit". "It provides opportunities for visitor (and residents, including youth) to learn about the dynamic heritage of the local region, it can also bring together residents for a common purpose (eg. Communities in Bloom). In this way, community improvements collectively made in the name of cultural/heritage tourism enhance the quality of life for residents, and contribue to increased pride".
