A situation update on Gaza, released from the UNs humanitarian affairs office yesterday, says since 7 July, at least 168 Palestinians, including 133 civilians (80% of total fatalities), 26 members of armed groups and 9 persons whose status could not be verified have been killed by Israeli air, naval and ground strikes in Gaza. An estimated 36 children and 26 women are among the fatalities. The number of injured stands at 1,140, of whom 296 are children and 233 are women. The report adds almost 1,000 homes had been destroyed in Gaza, bringing the estimated number of people displaced to 5,600. In an addition, around 16,000 people in northern Gaza have taken shelter at 20 UN schools in Gaza City and Jabalia. The UN says this, not communist propagandists, nor pseudo secular journalists. This is how Israel is defending itself. Today is the seventh day of the bombardment. The health ministry in Gaza puts the death toll at 172. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has killed a Palestinian in a clash near the southern West Bank city of Hebron early on Monday. The killfest continues unabated.
