***ABTR ADOPT A PUPDATE*** Hi all- I am 8 years old and my name is Sage, and I have a real Sage-erella story to share with you. Right before the 4th of July, I found myself scared and alone in a kill shelter. I was heart worm positive and had a very bad infection from an ulcerated eye that had never been treated . The shelter deemed me un-adoptable and I was put on the euthanasia list. I didnt know it at the time, but some sweet soul alerted ABTR and they came to my rescue. I was literally given my independence right before Independence day ! I cant tell you how excited I felt - ahhhhhh sweet freedom! I was given a new name ,SAGE - from the latin root Salvia meaning to heal. They tell me it means profoundly wise and suits me with my frosty senior face.I now understand that every life has a zero hour,that moment when everything that came before it is different from everything that comes after.I knew I had just had my Zero Hour...I was excited ,nervous, and a little scared- but not in a bad way, just because I was starting my new life. All of my health issues are being addressed and foster Mom says I am about the sweetest boy she has ever met. I am working on my potty manners, I am really a gentleman and dont want to disappoint my family. Foster mom thinks I was left outside all the time so was never given the training or the health care I needed. I am not happy in a crate- it scares me so please dont ask me to go in one. I get along with all the doggies at foster moms house . I am on vet hold right now and being treated for those awful heart worms ; I do have vision impairment in one eye. I hope to be available for adoption soon - I just know there is a perfect family that I can love that will love me for the awesome senior that I am .
