[AM Message] Nehemiah 8 / Mark 4:20-25_ The original WaterGate took place here in Nehemiah 8. Church started at dawn, the entire first 5 books of the bible were read out loud for about 6 hours while everybody stood... Then the people (congregation) fell to the ground and wept. Where God had broken Nehemiahs heart to restore this city... Now the city is complete, the peoples hearts are broken and revival breaks out. And the SAME power that shook that nation is still in Gods word today. There was a revival and a re-bible. They opened the book. We need to open the book. Gods word speaks, touches, reaches, convicts & changes us. We cant just hear the word, or even study the word, it needs to sink into us... It needs to work in our hearts. 1) HEAR IT_ Read, listen, church, sermons, books, audiobooks. Put yourself in a place where you can hear the word. 2) RECEIVE IT_ It cant just be about hearing Gods word... We have to take it in. Poke it, pull at it, explore it from all angles. God has breathed His word into you... now you breathe it out. It changes us. It strengthens us. 3) DISPLAY IT_ When God speaks to you, dont hide it... Share it. Let the difference show. As followers of Jesus, we need to NOT conform. The more we spend time in His word... The more well get. The more we receive... The more we receive. The more we breathe in... The more we breathe out.
