Sitting back there, guilt enveloped her and she just sat quietly without uttering a word. Steve pulled into the car park and dropped her off, she paid him, he offered her her change and he headed home. On getting home, he went staight for his food which Nkoli had earlier come to prepare and started to munch. Meanwhile back at Rockview, Stephanie kept calling her would be host but he was not answering her calls, later on after a long time he appeared at the hotel lobby, Stephanie spots him and gladly hurries to meet him smiling, but he behaved like he was oblivious of the fact that Stephanie was there, she then finds out that the guy she had been waiting for already had two girls keeping him company. The guy made it clear to her that she didnt come on time as he requested and he told her off. She felt so humiliated and insulted, she left quietly walking towards the junction, how does she get home ? Its late and getting a Keke that would go towards her side was a difficult task. She dials Steve. Steve was watching a documentary on discovery channel when her call came in. Steve wondered why she was calling him and hesitantly picked up. Steve : Helo Stephanie : (in her softest of voices) please Steve come and get Me from that place you dropped me. Steve : Im sorry but I have closed for the day. Stephanie : Please my dear, I will pay anything you charge, I just need to get home. Steve : I told you my sister, I have closed. Stephanie : Please I beg you, I need you to pick me and drop......... The line went dead. She looks at her phone in bewilderment and redials. Meanwhile at Steves place, He was thinking out aloud. Steve : imagine this girl oooo, nke m jiri buru her personal driver. Emechigom oru joor. He switches off his phone. Stephanie at the other end dialled him to no avail. That episode made Steve aware of the fact that he had overcome Stephanie entirely. Ebuka kept to his word and most times Steve offered him charter services. One night as Steve was bout heading home after the days toil, his phone rang, so he cleared to take the call, it was Mama Nkoli. Steve : Helo Mama Nkoli : Steve biko gbata bia nyere m aka ooo, Nkoli na anwu anwu oooo. Steve : Eh ! Obu gini ? Okay stay tight I am coming right away. Steve sped towards Mama Nkolis residence and rushes in, Nkoli was so weak, her pupils were dilated. Steve hoists her onto his arm and ran towards his keke with Mama Nkoli and one of her sons following suit. It was an atmosphere of hysteria. As Mama Nkoli prayed and cried at the same time. In a matter of minutes Steve was speeding to the Federal Medical centre. On getting there, they were admitted at the emmergency ward with Nurses in a fierce battle to stabilise Nkoli. This Madness lasted for a while and finally she was stabilised. Finally the Doctor on call for that ward came in, it was a female Doctor, the same person who Steve had returned her properties to, it was Doctor Chizoba Aniekwe. ...... TO BE CONTINUED .......
